Am i transgender

Unread postby Bob1029 » 8th July, 2017, 4:02 pm

I think I might be transgender but I'm not sure like I really really want to have a vagina and I feel like I am more suited to having a vagina rather than penis. Other things are like I would prefer to do all of the "feminine" things than "masculine" things, but I just need a bit of help figuring out whether I am or am not transgender.

First of all, thanks for talking about these things. Many people keep things like these feelings and/or their sexuality to themselves and that is never good : /

What could help you is trying out things like wearing a dress and or make-up. If you feel comfortable you might feel more like a woman.

It is hard to understand what you mean simply by what you wrote cause most of us don't feel the same way. I'm sure some gays or a lot here can relate to wanting to do feminine things, but feeling more suited having a vagina isn't really common for a man. Perhaps if there are any trans people here or on another forum or quora might understand the situation better.

Still, you're just 13. It is possible that you are just figuring out things at your age and that it'll pass. It is also possible that you are just more feminine than other guys. Overthinking things and worrying will not help (and god I'm trying to stop doing the same for my problems.) Answers will come in time I'm sure. :)

I'd say that you need to stay calm and give yourself time to explore things. Maybe find people like you and talk to them about about it. Perhaps even watching certain types of porn might help, but don't do that cause your a minor. (and I'm not just saying that to make it look like I didn't just encourage a minor to watch porn, I didn't do that btw :P)

And also, please, do not accept any label given to you that you don't understand even if they say that being confused is normal if you have that label. You are you. Trans or not. You want to know how you feel and what to do in the future. People are just humans and I am one too. (that is why I have the disclaimer btw:D)

Transgender is complicated. Its complicated not only for people who need to understand it, but mainly for the transgender folks. The signs that you're transgender may be like the ones you listed down. In these kind of dilemmas, you should go (as cringe-worthy as it sounds) for what your heart feels. Think it over and go with what you feel comfortable with and feel like this is truly yourself, not someone you are pretending to be. Also, as Kamiel above said, give it time. Growing up and going through puberty changes a hell lot of things, believe me :P The most important thing - be who you feel you are inside!

The only advice I can give to you is to do a lot of research on gender dysphoria, and just see if that is how you feel, and if it is, then your next logical step would be to talk to your GP about it and see if they can assign you to a GIC (gender identity clinic) for a proper analysis. But, personally, I would have to say to you, if you do find out that you are trans, put off doing anything drastic like hormones until you are 16+ as I don't think it's right for people to make the choice of rendering themselves irreparably infertile when they aren't even finished with puberty yet. Good luck for you though, and I hope that whatever you end up doing, you find some happiness.

I know figuring out this stuff can be stressful, but my advice is just take it one day at a time. It doesn't matter if you're straight, LGBT, asexual, transgender, cisgender, or anywhere in between. What matters is being true to yourself. You are just as valid a person whether you are trans, cis, queer, straight, ace, etc. You're not defined by your gender or your sexuality.

So just take it one day at a time. Think about who you are, where you want to be in ten years. Who you want to be in ten years. Instead of stressing, try deep, calm, peaceful thinking about who you really are on the inside. You'll find your path, I'm sure.

Thank you all for being supportive and giving advice on all of this, it's not really stress but more not knowing and I feel like I don't know yet, because I am only 13. Funny you should say not finishing puberty, I was a very young one to start and started around tenish. But thanks again for all the suggestions and support and I will try and identify myself as soon as I can.

Hunzo, there's no need to identify yourself, just be you unless you find that something is impeding your life, like really, really wanting to be a woman in public. Good luck <3

My suggestion would be to try wearing female clothes and wearing make up to see what you think of it. I'm not very knowledgeable on this particular subject so I suggest doing lots of research and taking your time on deciding once in for all. Lastly, just go with your gut feeling. Good luck :)
