When my ex and I broke up, it pretty much broke my heart. It was a long time ago now (too long to admit without being embarrassed) and I'm still not completely recovered.

Since then we have remained "facebook friends" but haven't messaged each other or seen or talked to each other in real life. But I just can't help myself, about once a week I will go onto his profile just to check what's up. I don't know why. I know it only makes me feel worse to see him living a great life while my life pretty much sucks (ya I realise this is petty and jealous). Today he was tagged in a bunch of new pics and ofcourse he looks fucking amazing.

Do you guys check up on your ex's facebook too? I'm feeling pretty pathetic right now so I just thought I'd vent/ try to elicit some pity.

Hey mate, it's not embarrassing to be attached after a breakup! Most of us here did. Here is my tip for getting over him - if you really want to do so, find yourself distractions to stop thinking about him all the time, stop looking at his social media. The thing is, when you try to get over someone and then look at him, think about him, it won't work. Your brain will constantly bring back the thoughts that way.

The only way you’re going to get over him is by deleting/blocking him on social media. It helps no one to keep him on there and it is even worse for you. Life moves on. Good luck! :)

The best thing you can do in a situation like this is to let go, just as I had to do with my exes. It's not an easy task, but you have to bring yourself to shutting out the pain in your life. Otherwise, you'll just be picking up broken glass with your bare hands pretty much. Time will eventually heal you, even if it takes months or more. We're all here for you! :)

Although ive never had a BF, I still check up on my crushes FB all the time. It makes me sad every time i do it, knowing that we would never actually be a couple. But I think i do it because seeing him happy makes me happy until the thought continues to knowing that it would never work out.
Look I finally got a profile picture :D
