Top 4 of female flops though!

Azerbaijan is the best female song. I find her kinda hot.

I don't mind this list at all. Except France. I would replace it with Austria. Definitely the first two, though I haven't yet decided on the order. I liked Belarus as well, but I would probably put Romania in the the third place. I am not the biggest fan of Hungary either - I didn't even like it initially, but it grew on me before it ended. Still not my top list though.

Belgium
Bulgaria
Romania
Cyprus
Italy

Ok so here's my top 10 going into the final.

1-Belgium: love the song it's very 2017 and has cemented a spot in my music library. I just don't think it's a good Eurovision song as it doesn't lend itself to an engaging live performance.

2- Bulgaria: catchy song and flawless voice. This guy could have a massive career not only in Russia/Eastern Europe but the west too. My only criticism, which may sound a bit petty, is it's so flawless it comes across as not having soul.

3- Belarus: the soul is back in this one. Great song and performance that feels really genuine.

4- Portugal: I've gone from wondering what the fuss is about to having it in my top 5. Not the style of music I listen too, but you can feel the emotion in it when he performs and it's actually quite engaging, just took a few watches to grow on me.

5- Norway: Catchy song, modern and the performance is ok.

6- Azerbaijan: the staging confuses me, I don't get it lol. But I like the song and her voice.

7- The Netherlands: these girls slayed. Their voices are like honey together.

8- Armenia: The song is ok, slow to start but the last minute kicks ass. The staging was great too.

9- Italy: Fun song and staging. Would be a good winner.

10- Romania: it's terrible but I love it. Funnest song this year and I keep finding myself singing "yodelaii, yodeleaio. Yodelay yodelay."

Special mentions to Denmark. Great voice, songs not the best but she performs well.
Moldova, another fun one, slightly trumped by Romania.
Hungary. One that's growing on me more and more.

I need some more time to gather my predictions.

Prediction time.

Portugal will win. They have the momentum going in to the final that Italy seem to have lost. I think not having performed in the semi will hurt Italy.

Bulgaria in second. He will get a lot of the teenage girl vote and is just a great performer.

Italy in third, a repeat of Russia 2016. He's lost momentum this week been overshadowed by the success of Portugal in the semi and Bulgaria and Belgium in the charts.

Rounding out the top 5 is Belgium and Armenia in no particular order.

Denmark will place in the top 10. Powerful vocals and sandwiched between hot favourites Portugal and Italy in the running order.

Other top 10 places will be Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Sweden and Romania in no particular order.

Norway will do well in the televote even if it doesn't in the Jury, its catchy modern and radio friendly it will be somewhere in the 10-15 mark along with the UK who will do surprisingly well based off recent years but won't break top 10, and Poland

Australia, Israel, France, Germany and Cyprus are among the weaker acts and will likely pad the bottom of the scoreboard. Wouldn't be surprised to see any of them come last, but think it will be Australia or Cyprus taking home the wooden spoon.

Austria won't be last but will be on the weaker end of the scoreboard in the lower 10 somewhere.

My yearly (too detailed) prediction :rip:

1st. Bulgaria - Obviously my personal favourite, but bias aside, I just feel like this has everything going for it. The Juries should love him. He's got the cute factor, and the song has enough Western appeal to pick up 8s and 10s in Central and Western Europe. If it can pick up the Eastern votes as well (aided by Russia not entering)... I can just see it winning. It ticks all the boxes. Televotes, Juries, Eastern appeal, Western appeal, good looks, awesome staging... Armenia and Azerbaijan potentially could get in his way out East which could gift the win to Portugal.

2nd. Portugal - Will win with the Juries, and I'm surprised at how well its charting and the views online - so as long as that can translate over Europe, it should be top two. My fear is that the East don't really get it, and the 12s in Western Europe start going to Italy. It'll be so close between Portugal and Bulgaria.

3rd. Italy - Unless he absolutely slays the televoters (which is possible, given how Eurovision fans reacted to it the first time we heard it), I think its unlikely he wins. I predict 4th or 5th with the Juries and 2nd with the televote.

4th: Belgium - Will slay the televote in Western Europe at least. Juries should be *okay* with it, but will mark it down a bit.

5th: Romania - Televoters will love it, but I think predictions the Juries will hate it are wrong. I doubt many Jurors will be giving it top 5, but defo should be in top 10. Awesome staging and nothing wrong with the vocals.

6th: Azerbaijan - The dark horse (literally) and could ruin Kristian's night if it starts picking up 12's out East. The Juries will love the staging and her vocals on rehearsal were meant to be on point.

7th. Sweden - Still shouldn't be underestimated and has the potential to shock. I feel like its good the first few listens. Will do well in the televote, and wouldn't surprise me if the Juries like it as well.

8th. Armenia - Will do well with both the Juries and Televoters. Will pick up a lot of Eastern support.

9th. Croatia - Clearly some people love it. Might have done well with the Juries if they respect how difficult it is to sing like that.

10th. Moldova - Probably didn't do as well with the Juries as it will the public vote, but is catchy and will stick in people's heads
.
11th. Poland - Juries will have preferred Poland this year, and I still expect it to rise in the televotes. Could get top 8 if the Juries are really there for it.

12th. United Kingdom - The Juries better have put UK in the top 8 or top 5 as it defo deserves it. I've just got this feeling it could bomb on the public vote though. I really hope not. There is no way this should be finishing below 10th on credibility.

13th. Norway - Best position in the running order, nice enough song that should do well with some televoters.

14th. Israel - I think it will benefit from going first because it is quite an explosive start. Will stick in people's heads.

15th. Netherlands - Should do better with the Juries, but is pretty forgettable.

16th. Greece
17th: Ukraine
18th: Denmark
19th. Belarus
20th. Hungary
21st. France
22nd. Austria
23rd. Cyprus
24th. Austrialia
25th. Spain
26th: Germany

Semi final 1

Chubby white girl from canada watches eurovision
these are her diary thoughts
pepper ur angus

thought one I'd suck robin and also I was happy he had a female dancer in his group but now I just think it was a long haired man
ive been tricked
also his song was bland

I liked that they sat in bowls like e.t in star wars
also it makes me cry that some bowls are filled and some only have like one person all alone :weep:
Image
Image

tamara from georgia cmon little red riding hood
her whole performance looks liek a cheaper version of this guys
and her dress is so basic and her special effects were basic

I like the australian guy I listened to him before eurovision
ooo he has a nice soothing voice i like his vocals
terrible special effects i always hate when people just have big projected versions of themselves on screen

albania looks liek she took a hit of something and wanted to sing karaoke
sorry I called you a gap toothed bitch, it's not your fault your so gap toothed
powerful lungs though

poor belgium she looks like there's a gun pointed at her and if she doesnt sing shes dead
or she has to let out a big wet shit i guess that's the danger zone shes singing about
someone turn the volume up
who was the person that decided she should wear a dark dress the same color as her effects
she's lucky she had a back up basically singing the whole song with her
does this song have three words

lmao montenegro i liked that a few of them had the pony tails
his dancing reminds me of those robotic anime videos 14 year olds learn to make
very clunky
this performance sucks most of the people in the back prob cant even see his thin hair pony tail helicopter move that i feel like was his secret show stealing weapon

finland stole adeles life
i was waiting for the guy to come on and start singign with her then i realized he was playing the piano the whole time
what an amazing piano solo wish i could have heard it
ooo her screen went red here comes some power shes really gonna blow us all away now
oh wait her performance is over

azerbaijan had a neat idea to be different and it was neat at first but when they zoom out the camera and u see how tiny her little box is the magic disappeared for me now i just see a lazy
i found myself watching the horse man more than her which isnt good if ur the main performer
i actually didnt mind the song reminded me of tatu

someone get portugals medication prescription refilled pls
i found the song very cute though it reminded me of the music from studio ghibli
id prob listen to it and waltz to it irl
and he's kind of cute

the greek girl is gorgeous my eyes are drawn to her face
not a fan of her voice but i like that she has an actual eurovison bumpin feel with that slow start and then a more upbeat tone after
ahh shes so gorgeous though

SCREAMS POLAND SENT A ROBOT DID U HEAR HER THANK EVERYONE AT THE END SHES LIKE BEEP BOOP THANK U ALL ZOOOOP

omg epic sax guy is back!!
i actually loved that song back then and i didnt even know what eurovision was
so far moldova is one of my faves
i kind of wished the performance was bigger though
since every song so far has felt the same though this one gives me a fresh feeling

time for iceland
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sorry i started 2 fall asleep

nice outfit czech
good thing she has guys with bulges on screen to keep me entertained

cyprus is cute but can anyone even see the stage floor line theyre working with everyone looks lower than it
and idk if theres like big tvs all over for the audience to see

i feel like armania sings and looks like how montenegro sees himself in his head

i liked slovenias voice and the way he looks

the drummer is dreamy in latvia

i have a new found appreciation for sweden after hearing all the other acts it wasnt so bad after all

honestly I have to say this semi final one was godamn BORINGGG i felt myself falling asleep
every song felt the same just kind of bland
when the people sung ballads i didnt feel anything from them
does no one dance anymore
my fave eurovision songs are the one's where people have a unique musical sound of the place they represent
but this one was just bland americanized TRASHHH :pukey:

Portugal deserved the win. The absolutely resounding victory in both the jury and televotes shows that different and unique can win. For several years people have been grumbling about how everything is in English, and some kind of ballard or Europop. It wasn't my favourite song by far, but anyone who thinks that it was the wrong choice is, imo, deluded by the fact that it stormed to victory with its popularity. Unlike last year, the winner was truly the winner Europe wanted. Democracy people.
