Belgium was good, still one of my favourites.
I'm pissed Moldova got through

Belgium was weak af, her vocals were so flat, monotone and generally dire. Georgia was robbed tbh...

Moldova however was a BOP and deserved to go through :werd:

I got up early to watch it live, but had to go to work so missed the voting until Now, anyway here's my thoughts.

Overall wasn't as good as last year semi 1, but better than 2015.

Helicopter Hair from Montenegro was my highlight.

Belgium was as uncharesmatic as in rehersals, but thank god they changed her dress. The original was just awful. It's my favourite song this year, but it's just not a Eurovision song.

Australia sucked. There were more deserving countries. Our song is a snooze, the choreography with the big lazy Susan is just weird and he missed notes. Blah.

Did anyone else think Cyprus sounded like Moldova 2015? Plus the choreography took more than a little bit of inspiration from Russia last year.

Sweden reminds me of robin thicke. He looks like a sleazy dirt bag and the whole thing was too slick and manufactured. I hate it.

Jon ola sand was as awkward as ever.

I liked Latvia, sad it didn't qualify.

When will Czech Republic stop sending the most boring ballad possible. Give us a cute Czech boy.

I don't get the fuss about Portugal. Completely forgetTable. Though Jesse just told me he needs surgery or his gonna die, so I guess it's pity hype? :dunno:

Did anyone have any idea what the Verka bit was on about?

The host Alex is hot.

Yeah it wasn't a great semi final, it was very ballad heavy. The one on Thursday seems stronger.

Montenegro should have qualified. He was having fun :D

Belgium is doing really well on the YouTube views and streaming right now. It could come top three with the public vote. I feel like the Juries will mark it down though. Should easily finish top 10 though that I imagine. I'd predict like 8th.

I really liked Cyprus. It stood out in the ballads.

I'd like Portugal to win simply because I'll go (I'll even go it is in Italy I think, but would prefer Portugal), and I think they'd do a good job hosting. But yeah, I don't like the song and I don't get it at all. I really think right now, though, it will win. My concern with it is that it might not do well on the public vote, but will slay with the Juries. But it's YouTube views and streaming is really acing. It's nearly gone to favourite!

Check this out: http://esctracker.com/

I really like the UK's performance:

I don't love the song, but she deserves to be getting top 10. The staging and her vocals are so good.

My favourites from last night were probably Moldova. My favourite overall is probably Bulgaria though (followed by Italy), and we'll see King Kristian qualify on Thurday :clap3:

Oh, and I'd fuck both hosts. They're hot.

I've heard some buzz around the internet that Belgium could have won the semi. Personally I think it will be Portugal, but a top 3 placing from Belgium is possible. The fact it's had such an impact on the charts and YouTube is encouraging as most the veiewers will be people who's first experience of the song is the Eurovision performance. She's gone from 10th to 4th In the odds overnight. I'm officially TEAM BLANCHE from now on.

I'm excited to see where the uk places. It looks like she's managed to create a decent performance out of a forgettable song.

GIFs are popping up now too. There's always atleast one moment each year that becomes iconic and into the folder to show people who have never heard of it what Eurovision is . Here's the first from this year.

I really, really dislike Portugal and I under no circumstances want it to get anywhere near first place. Currently I would be just fine with Belgium winning, but I haven't yet heard the rest of the songs.

Also... Why does everyone like Moldova?

Moldova was fun and catchy and stood out from a night of lots of generic ballads.

I really disliked australia and tbh 6 first were all dull in 1st semis
And finland was one of the best. The voice was really strong at points and I enjoyed that after the 6 dulls before it, except for the rocket to the moon, it wasnt dull, just disgusting rather.

This was MUCH better than the first one. I don't think that I really disliked any song.

My favourites:
Bulgaria, Ireland, Austria, Romania (it was weirdly catchy). I also liked The Netherlands, Israel, Belarus, ...

I also don't mind the choice of hosts this year :shifty: .

To the bad stuff: Ireland didn't get through. Again. How the fuck does this keep happening?

Croatia looked like it should have been a duet but the other singer didn't show.

Israel was so bad, how did that go through. There was nothing engaging about that song or performance.

Romania are both through, which I predicted going in would be the surprise qualifier. Combined with Moldova its good that the two fun acts didn't get dumped in the semis which normally occurs.

Surprised that Macedonia didn't qualify. There was a a lot of early chatter about that song. The performance wasn't that engaging though, she got lost on the big stage which wouldn't have helped. I felt so embarrassed by the proposal. Public proposals are always tacky, but on live to in front of millions is taking it to another level. You pretty much have to say yes or you'll look like a total bitch.

I quite liked Switzerland I'd swap Israel and Croatia for Macedonia and Switzerland.

Bulgaria was flawless, too the point where it came across manufactured and not genuine.

Ireland was like a ten year old who's voice had yet to drop. He sounded normal when he spoke why was his voice so high. It was distracting

Netherlands is serving quality for the third year in a row.

Loved Belarus.

Valentina gives me the shits. She is so annoying. Glad she's been left at the semi once again.

Yeah it was a much, much, better Semi Final. Really enjoyed it. I've been so pessimistic the last few months because of the amount of female-ballads, but the 26 in the final is really strong and really varied. Every non-English song qualified! Also, only two female-only acts qualified last night (Netherlands and Denmark). My top ten is quite male heavy (and I don't really have a male preference in my music taste), so males are 100% stronger this year in my opinion.

I enjoyed practically everyone last night! I'm surprised Macedonia and Estonia didn't qualify. Bulgaria was the stand out though. He is so good for 17, the staging is fantastic... I'd be amazed if he doesn't get top three. Romania was great and is so Eurovision. Croatia was unique and I'm glad he qualified. I liked Israel a lot too. The only ones I disliked last night was Lithuania and San Marino.

Here is the running order for the final!

1. Israel
2. Poland
3. Belarus
4. Austria
5. Armenia
6. The Netherlands
7. Moldova
8. Hungary
9. Italy
10. Denmark
11. Portugal
12. Azerbaijan
13. Croatia
14. Australia
15. Greece
16. Spain
17. Norway
18. United Kingdom
19. Cyprus
20. Romania
21. Germany
22. Ukraine
23. Belgium
24. Sweden
25. Bulgaria
26. France

Predictions guys?

Portugal has really grown on me and is now one of my favourites. So I retract my previous statement of it been forgettable.

Bulgaria is stuck in my head on replay. It's a real ear worm.

I think Australia will do better than 12th and as much as I like Austria (it's a sweet song and he is super adorable) I can't see it doing very well

I just don't like the song. I find it kind of dull and boring. It also doesn't feel particularly unique.
