I hated all of tho-*shot* Well, the Dark Knight was okay, and the Winter Soldier is meh. I'm sorry, but I guess most superhero movies are too lost in the action that they lose the plot. Like, I fall asleep right in the middle of the action scenes in most movies. And there's the Marvel-esque feel that is somewhat looked down upon by some people. It just feels like a Michael Bay movie all over again. Or maybe it's just that there's so much hype over it that heightens expectations. I dunno, it's just my opinion.

Superhero movie are probably not for you then... I found myself wanting more action in Dark Knight Rises and Winter Soldier... :dunno:

Another problem is that superhero movies use such cliché stuff, such as the all-powerful orb/sphere/item/lexicon/book/(in Age of Ultron, those "god" stones)/(in the Avengers, that cube thingy [there's a larger cube thingy in Transformers]), the somewhat forced romance; such as Natasha and Banner, the implausible/outrageously unrealistic happenings, stupid pseudo-science, and the action that overwhelmes some people and gives them a headache afterwards.

I especially hate the "chosen one," "save the world/city from aliens/monsters/bad guys", and "villains-that-are-evil-just-because" clichés. And don't get me started on the annoying plot holes, overly confusing/complicated plot and deus ex machina.

The Dark Knight trilogy had a stronger plot than most non-superhero movies and as little action as you're gonna get from genre that basically resolves about guys in costumes beating eachother up.

And on topic of those cliché's, well, I guess that mainly goes for Marvel, but they do handle it well in some of the movies.

While I understand your point of view, some of the most critically acclaimed movies in history are superhero movies, so they can't be all that bad. I guess you just have to accept you were not born to appreciate the genre.

The Dark Knight did have a stronger plot than some movies, I'll have to agree with you there. That's why I said it was okay, and not meh. It was very well-thought-of and interesting, but it's an outlier. Not a lot of superhero movies can match the depth and overall impact of the Dark Knight...

EDIT:
Superhero movies are like Science Fiction movies. It's a great risk to make them because they're so hard to pull off. It's just too easy to fall into the outrageously improbable and heavily clichéd trap. Sure you have some of the greats that have cult followings, but I expect top-notch because of the outrageously high budget to make them, and the hype.

The part with Black Widow getting kidnapped made sense, especially in the context. She and Hawkeye are not only the most boring, but also the weakest links as far as actually having any powers go.

That said, her love story with the Hulk was cringeworthy and whoever thought it a good idea to add that needs to be fired.

They erased his schizophrenia AND his bisexuality. Like seriously, why do they have to make everything boring. It's annoying.

I never saw Ant-Man, but I've heard it referred to as "Honey, I Shrunk the Iron Man" and I'm willing to bet that's fairly accurate.

I nearly fell of my chair when someone dissed The Dark Knight :wtc:

Anyways, moving on to Marvel, I think if Ryan Reynolds' performance as Green Lantern is anything to go by for Deadpool, I'm quite worried.

But hey, Ben Affleck looks like he could be back on form after he flopped playing Daredevil in a film... I don't know how Deadpool will be so successful as its R rated and most popular superhero films are like 12 or 15 (Dark Knight, Iron Man)

I wish they could make another Thor.
I'm gone for now.

When will Hollywood stop covering up everything to do with sexualities that aren't hetero or homo, and acting like people with mental illnesses can't be strong too ugh :shake:
