"Game of Thrones" Discussion Thread

Unread postby gaytheatrenerd » 30th April, 2012, 10:17 pm

So, this is a thread for anybody on here who, like myself, is a huge fan of the tv series "Game of Thrones" (note, I said tv series, since while the books are great in and of themselves, I want to try to see them and judge them as seperate pieces of art). This can just be a general discussion thread, but here are some general questions to start out:

-What did you think of the latest episode?
-Who is your favorite character?
-Thoughts on sexposition?
-Favorite Locale?
and so on a so forth.

To take time to answer my questions:

-I think that a lot of the first few episodes this season have been alot about building things up to full-on action that will come later
-I love all of the characters, but my favorites have been Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targeryan, and Jon Snow (Kit Harington is so hot)
-The sexposition is fun, if at least gratuitous, and it made me appreciate the characters Renly Baratheon and Ser Loras Tyrell a little bit more, if you know what I mean :naughty:
-I personally love Qarth, as it seems the msot exotic so far, and I also love the Aryn's castle with the open-sky cells.

The only wrong thing about that image is that Robb doesn't actually want to be king. So even if he wins, he'd be just King in the North. That considered, I'd say my favorite to take the iron throne is now definitely Daenerys. Before, I still wanted her, but I wanted Renly to actually have some time in the throne before he died.

I love this show! I still haven't found time to read the books since I'm trying to finish the Hunger Games trilogy, but Game of Thrones comes right after that! :)

And as for the sexposition, I love it. It's not why I started to see the show but it's something that keeps me at it (not saying that the other aspects need help). Renly and Ser Loras were hot. Too bad Renly was too much of a bitch to go through with it during that scene.

When I first watched it, my father came in during one of the scenes where a lady was undressed and boobified all on the camera.

My dad almost thought I was straight for a second.
Just a second.

Joe Dempsie (Gendry) is hot as fuck. That is all.
(Oh, and the show is surprisingly good considering how TV shows don't usually live up to standards for their books. I'm surprised a fantasy epic got pulled off so well so far.)

I'm really curious as to what they're going to do with the show in the long run. Martin still has two more novels to write and some are speculating that we (the fans) would be very lucky to see them finished before Martin dies.

I move to have him assassinated so we can hire the HBO team to write a happy ending.

Agreed. However, he's stated that he's confident he'll finish both books before leaving this world. :keke:
And God, I hope they'll be able to adapt the whole book series to the show, as planned.

'Cause this is without doubt one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Spoiler:
GODDAMNIT, WHY DID THEY KILL RENLY? I LOVED HIM! :wtc:
And his relationship with Loras was so hot. :unf:
The journey is the destination...

Happy endings are for children's fairy tales.

To be completely honest, I have never heard of "Game of Thrones" before until my Spanish teacher made us read a Spanish article on it and do this scene-making up/acting for it... I shall try this TV series if I can find them somewhere online.

My Little Pony is better. On topic though, I tried to watch it, and then just went back to the books.

that sounds like somethign that Arya would say.

OT, I have confidence that we will get the full sotry before Martin leaves us. Either way, I really just cannot wait to see how they do the Red Wedding
