On the BBC: It was nice that it was a bigger arena, on BBC 2, and it was good to see Alexander Rybak and, even The Vamps (who, I was surprisingly sat watching and considering 'why can't we send them :P) - I just wish they'd offer us more songs with more variety. Make the show 2 hours and give us 10 songs. C'mon.

I would love to see The Vamps on Eurovision. They are one of my favourite bands right now.

As for the UK entry... It is quite bland. Not a bad song, but nothing really worth mentioning.

Though Finland has traditionally made bad choices for Eurovision. Like in 2000 when the Finnish people voted to send Nightwish but the committee over rode them and picked someone who has not gone on to sell 8 million records.

Finland chose then one of the most boring performances.... The song is kinda okay (but still not the best of them)... I hoped that Club la Persé would have won, they had rly fun performance and good song too... :noway:

10 songs so far and I'm kinda disappointed with the quality. France and Italy are the best imo.

No cute boys spotted yet. This needs to be rectified as soon as possible.

Our selection begins on the 17th. And the winner will be decided on the 24th. Maja Keuc (one of our best entries so far) will be back. So at least I have high hopes that this year won't be a total flop.

1 from TheBrunswickian

The first two parts of our national selection were yesterday & today - the final is going to be next week. At least this year we have some better songs to choose from. And of course a crappy song will win yet again.

The whole thing was hosted by three slightly crazy women who took the piss out of everything. There was swearing, wanking gestures and they insulted pretty much every contestant with their jokes. Then they insulted the viewers as well. It was both cringe worthy and amusing. This would definitely not be allowed on prime time television on the national channel in most countries.

To the songs....

My favorite that got into the final:

(I am a sucker for cute boys of course)

I liked and got into the final category:

They are both a bit dated though and wouldn't do well.

Ok.

OMG how didn't this get into the final category:

They give me such a Nigtwish vibe and were my favourites. It's only natural that they didn't get into the final.

Slightly crazy, modern vibe with a cute singer on top.

We all need to remember one thing. I like them, which means that none of them will be selected.

Drum roll please... we did it again

I promised drama. And drama was delivered. I present to you... our winner:

Yes, I like the song. But it shouldn't have won. As always in this country, the jury voting pretty much fucked everything up. BQL got the most votes from televoting but yet barely got any votes from the juries. The flame war has already erupted over social media and it's pretty obvious why.

In other news... Jamala performed her song during the interval act.
