Am i the only one on hear that noticed that a lot of the threads in the Gay Chat category is either is he gay? Am i gay? Or how do i meet gay guys? Im not trying to be a jerk and i do sympathise but i think we should create a new category for stuff like this. Do you guys feel the same or am i being insensitive?

Don't forget the "top or bottom" threads.

I agree that something could be done, but I don't think a whole new thread category is necessary. If we just got a mod to sticky an "Is He Gay?/Am I Gay?/Whatever else" megathread so that if you have those kinds of questions you go to that thread only.

yeah yag made that megathread, but peeps are so desperate for attention (not saying I'm above it) that they all want their own individual threads. even though the answer is always the same:
are they hot? then they're straight.

I personally think that would be disorganizing the topics. Throwing them all into one thread would make things incredibly chaotic in keeping up with who's talking about who's problems. I'm for a new category.

EDIT: Bumped thread, just realised But still, I think its relevant... I think its a bit of a lose-lose situation for new members... OPTION A Get put down for starting a new thread topic that's been done a gazillion times. OPTION B Get put down for bumping a prehistoric thread to avoid a recurring thread topic. - I guess a lot of younger people have a lot of questions to ask. I won't speak for anyone else but for years I was under the impression that no one was really going through what I was. Sites like this help them realise that they aren't alone, but it often takes a thread of their own for them to all come to that conclusion and we shouldn't discourage people from at least venting their own personal experience in a thread. I've always seen it as an option to just bypass these threads if you don't want to contribute and move on to the closest Self-Pics thread I can find instead

I must admit, I have posted a few of those recurring threads. :p One thing I would see wrong with making a new category for them would be that it might not get as much attention. These people might all have similar problems in many ways but they are also different in their own ways too and if they get their own category, I feel many people wouldn't bother to look into that category...

We do make distinctions between different threads - for example, those is-he-or-isn't-he thread. And we try to be understanding, too. We've been there and we know what it's like to need reassurance.
But those annoying threads about penis size or underwear or arbitrary sexual roles, I will either merge into others or wasteland entirely.

We should sticky those top/bottom, virgin, etc threads. They show up at least once a month anyways and having one long running one would produce better data (from the polls).

You should have to have a certain amount of posts before you can start making threads in the Gay Chat and Anything Goes forums. It would either A) give new members some time to get used to the forum before they start spamming "are you a bottom" threads OR B) Isolate most of the 'Is he gay' threads to Drama.
